IT’S TIME TO HAVE A CHANGE OF PERSPECTIVE!

As you step out today, here’s a reminder of God’s word to you from Luke 15:17-19 [TLB].

I wrote today’s devotional a while back but I felt I needed to repost ( with few points added) it as someone needs to be encouraged with these words. And also because the change I believe they desire is tied to a change of Perspective. So, I challenge you today that it is time to have a change of perspective!

17 “When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home, even the hired men have food enough and to spare, and here I am, dying of hunger! 18 I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you,19 and am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired man.”

Today’s Bible verses summarise what a change of perspective is and what it has the potential to accomplish in a person’s life, A total 360 degree change. Jesus tells the story of the prodigal son who came to a defining moment in his life after living life recklessly and frivolously.

He came to a point which I term ‘A Change of Perspective’ defining moment. The bible says “when he finally came to his senses,” i.e. he had a change of mindset and this singular action brought about a significant transformation in his life thereafter.

One of my many passions as a creative person is photography. I am always just a click away from capturing nature’s beauty that catches my attention.

A few weeks ago, just at the turn of spring, I was taken aback by the beauty of blossoming flowers on a tree I saw. I immediately took out my camera and took as many pictures as I could, to capture the different angles of this nature’s beauty.

At the time when I took the picture, all I could see was the beauty of the fresh blossoming flowers in its full glory. And it reminded me that life was all about time and seasons and that no matter what we might go through as individuals, it only lasts for a season.

I was reminded at that point that Spring ushers in new life and no matter how dry and unfruitful a tree looks like, it is only because of the autumn and winter season it is in, but at the turn of spring it will blossom and live again.

A few days ago, I was going through the same pictures of the blossoming flowers I took and as I closely looked at the picture, I suddenly realized that it looked like the palm of a hand!

I was so in awe of what I was seeing and as I stared and looked intensely at the details of the picture the word ‘ A Change of Perspective’ dropped in my spirit.

I was reminded at that point that a lot of times to have a different result in the things we do, we need to have a change of perspective.

We need to think and see things differently just like our heavenly Father does. Isaiah 55:8-9 [MSG]says “I don’t think the way you think. The way you work isn’t the way I work.” God’s Decree. “For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think.”

I felt the Holyspirit begin to speak to my heart that as believers just like the picture of the tree, Faith helps us to have a change of perspective by making us see things the way God sees things ( isn’t it amazing how God communicates his mind to us with nature and the things around us).

A change of perspective allows you and me to see possibilities, rather than impossibilities.

A change of perspective allows you to see things through the lens of faith. To be optimistic rather than being pessimistic.

A change of perspective allows you to see yourself different, to appreciate your gifts and talents, strength and weakness and the even the role the the people that seem to have left your life when you needed them or those whose actions hurt played in making you wiser and stronger.

A change of perspective allows you to see different options to attaining a victory, to achieving success in various areas of your life, to delivering a business, to dealing with a difficult customer, to dealing with a business associate, to approaching cantankerous colleagues, the list is endless.

Therefore, as you go about your daily business and activities today, my encouragement to you is that a change of perspective might just be all that you need to revamp that business that seems to be unproductive.

Seeing things differently might just be the miracle you have been praying for and the answers to your prayers. (think about it). It’s time to stop bombarding heaven with all your prayer requests  when all God has been trying to communicate to you -is that all you need is A Change of Perspective!

It might be all that you need in dealing with that tough and challenging situation in your marriage, family, work situation etc. It might also just be a change of perspective you need as you relate to your spouse, children, grandchildren, nephew, boss etc.

I pray for you today that the Lord will open your eyes to see things differently in every area of your life that you need to see things from a different perspective in Jesus name.

Remember, the change or perhaps the breakthrough you desperately want to see in your life, relationships, ministry, education, business, etc. might just be tied to you seeing things a little more differently!

Do have a blessed and fruitful day!

Stay blessed.
