Identity in Christ

WOMAN YOU ROCK! #IWD2021

John 4:27-30 [TPT]
“27. At that moment, his disciples returned and were stunned to see Jesus speaking with a Samaritan woman, yet none of them dared ask him why or what they were discussing.
28 All at once, the woman left her water jar and ran off to her village and told everyone, 29 “Come and meet a man at the well who told me everything I’ve ever done! He could be the One we’ve been waiting for.”
30. Hearing this, the people came streaming out of the village to go see Jesus.”

#iwd The theme /campaign of the International Women’s day #ichoosetochallenge remind us to choose to challenge existing issues that limit women and deny her of her fundamental rights.

However,  as I thought about this theme, I could not help but meditate on my identity in Christ and at the same time think of the battle that has been unleashed on the ‘woman gender’ since the beginning of time by Satan, the number one adversary as the Bible calls him in (1Peter 5:8). Why, because he knows the enormous power & unlimited potential that we as women carry and the damage we pose to his kingdom of darkness. Check out Revelation 12 & 17.

This battle against the ‘woman race’ didn’t stop at creation (Genesis 3), No, now the enemy has taken the battle into our homes, boardrooms, workplace, political arenas, schools, entertainment  etc. and into every sphere of human influence. He’s used and he keeps using all of his demonic arsenal at his disposal to keep women under, molested, silenced, unrecognised, unappreciated, unheard, unempowered and to mainly just keep us down and out.

The devil’s ultimate goal is to keep us silenced, and to strip us of our identity. Because by stripping us of Who We truly Are in God, by stripping us of  knowing and understanding our identity, He is able to strip us of our purpose and relevance, in essence make us lose our self of worth and keep us bound in his captivity.
But, glory be to Jesus! Christ  shed blood and his victory won for us on the cross restored us back to our highly exalted position in him. Jesus Christ made a public spectacle  and embarrassment of Satan on the cross, triumphing over him, hallelujah! see (Colossians 2:15). Why? So, that you and I can live to the fullest of our potential and not be limited in anyway.
Jesus also came to challenge the norm, the negative and demeaning  labels and prejudices against us as women. We see  the Bible record (John 8:1-11,  Luke 8:2, Mark 5:25-34,) so many instances of how Jesus stood up for the rights of women. And how he didn’t excuse or overlook the sexism and misogynistic attitude prevalent at that time against women. Which unfortunately are still the same along with other issues we are still dealing with in the 21st Century. But instead, rather than Jesus turning a blind eye to the issues women encountered, He choose to challenge the existing norm and statusquo that posed great limitations to women.

At every opportunity Jesus had with his beloved daughters, He spoke life to them, delivered and set them free from sin and He never missed the opportunity to remind them of their true identity, of their true worth and value that is found only in Him.So, to you my dear sister, I encourage you to choose to always challenge yourself that because your Identity is in Christ.

You are Complete in Christ
You are Enough
You’re Valuable
You are Loved
You are Forgiven
You are Unstoppable
You are Unique, Special & Beautiful
You are not the label the world tries to confine you into. And You nothing sis impossible for you to achieve because You Can do All Things Through Christ Jesus that Strengthens You!
Refuse to let the devil talk you out of your identity like he did to Eve in Genesis 3. Don’t engage  or accommodate any conversations with the devil.  Remember, the devil’ native language is lying (see John 44). Which  means it’s impossible for him to ever tell the truth. It therefore means nothing he says to us is  credible or legit.  So, keep looking into the word of God to remind yourself of Who You Are in Christ and all that God has called you to be.
Sister, you Rock! so keep rising,  keep winning  and impacting lives wherever you find yourself because YOUR IDENTITY IS IN CHRIST!
