Morning Inspiration – FAITH OVER FEAR!

As you step out today/ this week, here’s a reminder of God’s word to you from 2Timothy 1:7 AMP.

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound mind [judgment] and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].”

WE CHOOSE FAITH OVER FEAR .

In this season we are in, fear instead of Faith seems to be gaining momentum as we see government of different power nations put in place various restrictions and lockdowns on schools, air travel, social gatherings etc. due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But as believers we must intentionally refuse to allow fear dominate us in anyway by keeping our eyes fixed on God’s promises to us in seasons like this. God’s word reassures us again and again not to be afraid because He watches over us day and night. And his word to us is that He promises to deliver us out of our troubles.

Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 all shared Jesus account of the various signs of the End Times. Luke21:11 says “There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.” But check out verse 13, Jesus says, “BUT IT WILL TURN OUT FOR YOU AS AN OCCASION FOR TESTIMONY.” i.e. it will be your chance to tell about your faith (goodnews).

This also means, this things happening will be an occasion for us to experience God’s goodness, favour and blessings just like the Israelites experienced  when God led them out of Egypt (see Exodus 12:36).

So, as believers the times we live in are a great reminder of our responsibility as believers to not cower in fear like unbelievers. But it is a time for us  to be strong and live out the word of God. This time of uncertainty is our chance to get our Faith activated by demonstrating our absolute trust and reliance on God’s word. It is a time for us to seek a fresh baptism of the Holyspirit to unable us boldly declare to the world the Goodnews of our Lord Jesus Christ.

To let them know that our Sovereign, All knowing and All powerful God is in control and share with them the truth of God’s word and his promises to those who dwell in his secret place.

His promise that He will keep deadly pestilence far away from his people. I encourage you to Read Psalm 91, a powerful Bible Chapter that is filled with God’s irrevocable promises as it relates to our protection. And also when we are faced with trouble. It is definitely a scripture to declare and confess over your life and family at this time.

Yes, we will be cautious and follow good personal hygiene but let’s not give in to fear propagated by mainstream news and social media. This is because FEAR TOLERATED CONTAMINATES FAITH!

If you think switching off the news or turning off the news notifications and staying off social media will help to maintain your faith level then please do that and do whatever is necessary to keep fear shut out. Ensure you guard your heart (Proverbs 4.23) and protect your faith gate i.e. your ears (Romans 10:17), eyes and mouth because these are the channels through which your faith can either be lifted or deflated!

2Tim 1:7 reminds us that
“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Fear originates from the prince of this world known as Satan (John 14:30) and with it comes panic, worry, anxiety, pain, torment and all sorts of negative emotions. But Faith comes from our total trust in God’s word (Hebrews 11:6) and with faith, love, peace, joy and hope thrives. 1 John 4:18 says “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”

Therefore, as you go about your daily business and activities this week, intentionally tune in to God’s word so that faith is maintained in your heart. Also, be reminded that it’s time to let God’s word be your driving force in this perilous times we live in especially as you interact with your colleagues and people the Lord will bring along your way.

Remember, with Christ we are more than Conquerors. We therefore pray for godly wisdom and direction for our leaders at this time.

Let this be your declaration –

I CHOOSE FAITH OVER
FEAR. NO MATTER WHAT IS GOING ON AROUND ME AND IN THE WORLD. I CHOOSE TO HAVE FAITH IN GOD’S WORD. I REFUSE TO BE AFRAID BECAUSE CURRENT ECONOMIC SITUATIONS ARE WORKING TO MY ADVANTAGE & IN MY FAVOUR! Amen.

Do have a blessed and productive week ahead!

Shalom❤️
