Morning Inspirations – YOU ARE CREATED TO DO GOOD WORKS

As you step out today, here’s a reminder from God’s word to you from Ephesians 2:10 [NIV] For we are God’s handiwork ( workmanship) created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

The [NLT] translation says “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”

This bible verse is our blueprint as a believer! It speaks so clearly to us as believers of the very purpose and reason why God created us! This means that we have to live each day with intentionality, making sure that everything we do, i.e., everything we did ourselves doing is geared towards doing ‘good works.’ Doing Good works will involve different things to each of us as a believer, but the underlying principle is that you live life in such a way that your life brings beauty out of others and gives hope to them!

Doing Good works will involve different things to each of us as a believer, but the underlying principle is that you live life in such a way that your life brings beauty out of others and gives hope to them!

Jesus is our perfect example when it comes to doing good works. The bible says in Acts 10:38 that Jesus our savior in whom we were created in his image and likeness also went about doing ‘good’ and used all that He had to bless others and to heal all those that were oppressed of the devil.

As we go about our daily business and activities today, let this scripture rejuvenate our passion and desire and also stir within us a renewed commitment that everything we do will be motivated by this purpose – to do good works. We should commit to using our gifts, talents, the profession and the unique abilities God has given to us, not just for selfish gains, or to impress or oppress others but to bring hope, joy, and good news to others!

So at the end of each day ask yourself the question, ” have I debited into my good works account today? and if the answer is no, don’t beat yourself but let it propel you to do so another day the Lord will grace you to see.

Remember when you do good works, you not only fulfill the very purpose for which God created you, but you can be sure that this will gladden the heart of the father and on judgment day, hear Him say to you “…Well done good and faithful son/daughter “ (Matthew 25:21).

Happy Monday!

Do have a blessed and fruitful day!
