Happy Newyear, Welcome again to 2018! As you step out today, I pray that the heartfelt prayers of Apostle Paul to the Ephesians church in Ephesians 1:17-21 [NIV and TLB] will also be your heart desire and prayers as you seek to know God more intimately this year.
17. “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom (to see clearly and really understand who Christ is and all that he has done for you -TLB) and revelation (that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can see something of the future he has called you to share), so that you may know him better.
18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, (I want you to realize that God has been made rich because we who are Christ’s have been given to him! – TLB).
19. And his incomparably great power for us who believe (I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great his power is to help those who believe him – TLB). That power is the same as the mighty strength.
20. He exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
21.far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. (far, far above any other king or ruler or dictator or leader. Yes, his honor is far more glorious than that of anyone else either in this world or in the world to come. -TLB)”
Therefore, as you go about your daily business and activities today, make sure that you make it a priority to earnestly pray for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation that you may truly know all that’s is available to you in Christ. And “understand how incredibly great his power to help those who believe him.”I also implore you to make these bible verses central to your daily prayers as you seek to know Christ – the power and wisdom of God (1Corinthians 1:24).
